Laser Treatments

Which type of laser treatment do I need?

Modern medical laser treatments can destroy foreign invaders that cause infections while helping you heal as quickly as possible. Laser treatment can help provide relief from any of the conditions below.

Toenail fungus

Treating toenail fungus with lasers is one of the most effective solutions. The laser penetrates through your nail and destroys fungal organisms in just a few sessions. Over the following several months, your nails grow out to become clearer and healthier looking than ever before.

Spider veins

Laser spider vein treatments are beneficial for restoring even skin tone on your lower legs. The laser simply targets spider veins and heats them to therapeutic temperatures, without damaging the surrounding skin. This effect forces spider veins to collapse. Over the following few weeks, destroyed veins absorb and seamlessly disappear.

Plantar warts

Plantar warts are incredibly stubborn to treat with traditional measures. Modern laser treatments close off the tiny vessels inside of warts and essentially destroy the infected tissue. Over time, treated warts fall off.

How many laser treatments do I need?

It depends on which type of laser treatment you’re having at Desoto Foot Care & Pedi-Spa, but in most cases, several laser treatments are necessary to achieve optimal results. For laser toenail fungus, spider vein, or wart treatments, you may need anywhere from 2-4 sessions.

It’s important to space each laser treatment about 3-4 weeks apart to give the tissues time to heal. Most sessions last about 10-15 minutes, so you can even schedule your laser treatment during your lunch hour.

How long does it take to recover from laser treatments?

No downtime is necessary after a laser treatment at Desoto Foot Care & Pedi-Spa, but you might be slightly sore or swollen in the treated area afterward. Mild redness is also common, although these issues tend to fade by the end of the day.

If you’re having a laser spider vein treatment, your podiatrist may ask you to avoid strenuous activities for a few days. Aside from these considerations, you can go about your normal routine after laser treatments.
